This Hotplate Welding Machine is a Standard Vertical Machine, with an automatic welding cycle.

The components are loaded by hand.
The components are sensed by the tools and clamps are brought on automatically.
Pressing the cycle start button brings the guard down and the welding cycle takes place.
At the end of the cycle, the guard opens, and the component clamps are released.
The operator removes the completed component.
Cycle time is of the order of 40 seconds.

The component made with this machine is a toilet seat made from two injection mouldings of polypropylene.
Machine Techniques were involved from the start of the design, helping to evolve a joint design which had sufficient strength, was hermetically tight, and which enabled the seat to be kept clean and hygienic.

The hot-plate size on this machine is 500mm x 400mm.
This machine is one of a range of similar machines with hot-plate sizes ranging from 200mm x 200mm up to 900mm x 600mm.
Whilst these sizes are our standard sizes, other sizes can be built to suit a particular product.

The machines are designed for a long life in multishift operation.
They are safe to operate, and easy to maintain, requiring little more than being kept clean.
The design of the machine has been proved and refined over many years.
