This machine is a Standard Battery Welding Machine, with an automatic welding cycle.
The batteries conveyed along the production line and into the welding position automatically,
the lid is lifted off the battery and the welding cycle takes place.
At the end of the cycle, the battery is conveyed out of the machine and the next is
marshalled into position for welding.
Cycle time is of the order of 35 seconds.
This particular machine was built for VRLA batteries in ABS, (up to 2000AH) and has a hot-plate
of 600mm x 450mm.
It is one of a range of machines, with hot-plate sizes ranging from 250mm x
150mm up to 750mm x 550mm.
These machines feature the tight control of welding conditions required for ABS, and are
equally suitable for batteries of polypropylene construction.
The conveyor speed can be varied to optimise the flow of batteries through the machine.
This range of machines feature very rapid type change-over, enabling economic production of
small as well as large batches.

Similar machines in this range are equipped with stainless steel and polypropylene conveyors,
enabling welding of batteries filled with acid to be carried out.
Machines of this design have been in production at a major UK manufacturer for more than
10 years.
The machines are designed for a long life in multishift operation.
They are safe to operate, and easy to maintain, requiring little more than being kept clean.
The design of the machine has been proved and refined over many years.
